Winning the International Competition of Scientific Translation Projects – 2025

Students of the Brest State A.S.Pushkin University have once again confirmed their high level of proficiency in foreign languages at the International Competition of Scientific Translation Projects on the theme "Voices of the Great Victory: We Remember. We are proud. We're translating it." This year it was held as part of the Year of Defender of the Fatherland in the Russian Federation and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The competition is organized annually by Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev" (Moscow). The languages of the competition are English, German, and French.

In 2025, 532 students from 40 universities in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and non-CIS countries took part in the competition. In the second, main stage, 250 works were presented. The participants of the scientific event were divided into two categories – students of linguistic and non-linguistic fields of study. They were offered competitive texts of two levels of difficulty. The structure of the competition assignment included performing a complete written translation of the proposed text, a creative task for semantic forecasting (restoring the structure and content of the abstract text of a scientific article), and preparing a "scientific essay" describing a scientific solution. / a startup within the framework of a practical situation analysis.

The winners of the competition were nine students of our university, two of whom won in the main nomination "The best translation from a foreign language". Nikolay Tsybulya, English (Faculty of Law) and Yulia Binkevich, German (Faculty of Foreign Languages) took the 2nd place in it.

Diplomas for the mastery of understanding scientific and journalistic text won:

1st place – Anna Zinovenko, German Language (Faculty of Foreign Languages);

3rd place – Dana Grabovich (Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy).

Diplomas for the culture of written scientific communication and persuasiveness:

1st place – Alesya Sviridyuk, German (Social and Pedagogical Faculty) and Arina Semenenko, French (Faculty of Physical Education and Sports);

2nd place – Kristina Chirik, German Language (Faculty of Foreign Languages);

3rd place – Anna Khomichuk, English (Faculty of Philology).

Diploma for high motivation for scientific activity using a foreign language:

1st place – Daria Kulikova, French (Faculty of Law).

Thanks for your cooperation in organizing and conducting the International Competition of Scientific Translation projects on the theme "Voices of the Great Victory: We Remember. We are proud.
