International interactive teleconference between the Historical Faculty of Brest State A.S.Pushkin University and Penza Orthodox Theological Seminary
The Faculty of History of Brest State A.S.Pushkin University initiated an international discussion on the image of women in the Orthodox tradition. Penza Orthodox Theological Seminary was invited to participate. The discussion was held in the format of a teleconference.
The teaching staff of Brest State A.S.Pushkin University was represented by Dean of the Faculty of History A.A. Savich, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History for Ideological and Educational Work V.V. Sushko, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History for Academic Affairs N.V. Samosyuk, Head of the Department of History of Belarus and Special Historical Disciplines T.P. Savchuk, Head of the Department of General History E.I. Pashkovich and Associate Professor of the Department of General History E.V. Skakun.
Protopriest A. Fadeev, Hieromonk T. Fedyashkin, Professor of the Department of Church History and Philosophy I.I. Maslova and Head of the Legal Department of the Penza Diocese K.G. Aristova spoke on behalf of the Penza Orthodox Theological Seminary faculty.
The participants of the teleconference discussed issues of motherhood in the Orthodox tradition, the images of wives in the Gospel, the role of a woman mother in the life of society and the state, and many other topics. The sides exchanged views on the role of women in history and modern life, topical issues of family and marriage, the future of Belarus and Russia and world civilization. Teachers and students expressed the wish to make such meetings regular and to continue discussing issues of interest to both scientists and young people.
