Foreign Students’ Fest: University Contest “I Learn to Speak Eloquently”

On March 5, 2013, another event within the framework of the Foreign Students’ Festival - University contest “I learn to speak eloquently” - took place. Representatives of almost all Faculties, at which foreign students study, participated in the event: Faculty of Law, Geography, Philology, Physics and Mathematics, Biology and Foreign Languages. Department of General and Russian Philology was the organizer of the event.

The contest consisted of two rounds. During the first round the contestants made presentations on the topic “I would like to tell you about…”. Presentations were made in the form of stories about motherland, national traditions and customs and symbols. Some contestants expressed their opinions on why it is important to remember ancestors and to have deep respect for mothers. 8 out of 13 contestants were allowed to the second round.

During the second round held in the form of dialogues on the topic “Do you know that..?” the students had a conversation about famous Belarusians.

Regarding the results of the strong rivalry the winners of the contest were declared:

1st place – Soltan Ovelekova, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics,

2nd place – Yunus Bekchanov, 3rd year student of the Faculty of Law and Oguljeren Tirkishova, 3rd year student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages,

3rd place – Ni Xiang, 4th year student of the Faculty of Philology.

All the participants were awarded certificates; the winners will be awarded during the Festival closing ceremony that will take place on March 12.
