Courtroom Opened

On May 29, 2013, a courtroom for guest show trials was opened at the Faculty of Law. The room was equipped by the Commercial Court of the Brest region with the aim of rendering assistance to the Law Faculty in forming future lawyers’ competences.  

The room is equipped with devices broadcasting a sitting of the court to the classroom next-door where students can comment on the process and ask lecturers questions during the sitting of the court.

Sergey M. Kulak, Chairperson of the Commercial Court of the Brest region, was present at the opening ceremony, as well as Rector of the University Mechyslau E. Chasnouski, Dean of the Faculty of Law Elena N. Grigorovich, University lecturers and students, and employees of the Commercial Court of the Brest region.

During his welcoming speech Sergey M. Kulak noted that the University authorities helped a lot to implement the idea which in fact had appeared much earlier. Mechyslau E. Chasnouski emphasized the fact that the unity of education, science and real court practice is exactly what makes a young specialist able to get involved into the work activity. Training of highly skilled specialists is a very significant and socially important objective of the University, provided graduate students from our Faculty of Law account for the considerable part of the Commercial Court employees. And they are doing their job well, which compliments not only the University itself, but also the academic staff of the Faculty.
