A celebration dedicated to the Winter Solstice was held at the Confucius Institute

On December 22, the Dongzhi Winter Solstice Day celebration was held at the Confucius Institute of Brest State A.S.Pushkin University. He continued the festive New Year's season.

The leadership of the BrSU and the Confucius Institute congratulated their Chinese colleagues and students of Chinese language courses on the holiday and wished them a successful end to the year, health, warmth and well-being. The honored guests held an award ceremony for the winners of the video contest "Dongzhi – making dumplings with the whole family" and students of the Confucius Institute courses who have achieved great success in learning Chinese.

The event was framed by a concert program full of instrumental vocal performances and a vivid show "Changing the Masks of Chinese Opera" performed by Rong Fei, a teacher at the Confucius Institute. The celebration culminated with the joint cooking of dumplings and their tasting. This year, there are innovations – dumplings with a surprise. Gifts were given to those who came across them.

As always, the Dongzhi feast turned out to be incredibly delicious. The friendly company of like-minded people made this evening one of the most memorable of the year.

Symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, Dongzhi marks the day when winter begins to recede and daylight increases. It is believed that this holiday will bring more light and positive energy into people's lives, a sense of balance and harmony.
