BrSU was visited by the delegation of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus

On March 17, Brest State A.S.Pushkin University met the delegation of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus, headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan. The Ambassador was accompanied by First Secretary of the Embassy Jiang Godong and Embassy Attache Sun Lizho. Co-directors of the Confucius Institute Fang Shengliang and Angela Evgenievna Saidi, Rector of BrSU Yury Petrovich Holubeu, First Vice-rector Petr Egorovich Rezkin and Head of the International Relations Department Natalia Vladimirovna Sas also participated in all the events held at the university. The Brest Regional Executive Committee was represented by Deputy Chairman Mikhail Leonidovich Batsenko and Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations Alexander Ivanovich Lukashevich, and the Brest City Executive Committee was represented by First Deputy Chairman Yury Viktorovich Klimakhovich.

As expected, the guests of such a high level were greeted in the best Belarusian traditions – with bread and salt. The vocal studio "Zolak Maladoci" performed a Belarusian folk song.

The delegation visited BrSU Confucius Institute, talked with its teachers and got acquainted with the classroom fund. Mr. Ambassador noted the importance of Chinese-Belarusian partnership relations, especially in the field of education, because the future depends on which vector of development young people choose. Zhang Wenchuan said that eleven thousand Chinese students and undergraduates are studying in Belarus, and suggested that their number will increase. There are currently 74 students and undergraduates from China at BrSU. The choice of our country to study in is determined by various factors, including the quality of education and safety. Belarusians are also going to study in China. At the moment, about a thousand of our countrymen are studying in China.

"Our partners are eight universities in China. Cooperation is underway in various areas, but I would like to single out our main partner, Anhui University," said Yury Holubeu, Rector of BrSU. – It was with Anhui University that we opened the Confucius Institute at our university. There are eight Confucius institutes in Belarus. Ours is one of the regional ones, and it is one of the most dynamically developing."

At a meeting with Chinese youth who are receiving education at Brest State A.S.Pushkin University, the ambassador instructed the children to respect the laws of the country in which they study and to demonstrate the culture and traditions of China. The delegation of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus visited the Brest Region as part of a working visit to the Brest region. Issues of Chinese-Belarusian relations were discussed at the regional level.
