Art dialogue "East – West: a new communication dimension" brought together students from Belarus and China

On June 4, the Faculty of Philology hosted an art dialogue "East-West: a New Communication Dimension" with an invited speaker, Professor Inna Anatolyevna Shved, director of the Center for Belarusian Studies at Anhui University. The event was organized by the Department of Russian Literature and Journalism for Belarusian students and foreign students from China.

Inna Anatolyevna gave a visualization lecture, in which she presented interesting facts about the history, culture, and traditions of Anhui Province.

In 2017, Brest Region and Anhui Province became twin cities, and in 2023, the same agreement was signed between the cities of Brest and Hefei.

The logical continuation of the lecture was the Socratic conversation "Codes of folk culture of China and Belarus". Undergraduates from China and Belarusian students tried to unravel the symbolism and ethnographic code of the traditional Polessky costume.

At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their sincere desire to continue the practice of the East–West intercultural dialogue.
