Confucius Institute at Brest State A.S. Pushkin

The long-awaited opening of the Confucius Institute took place on October 30. As Anna Sender told us, preparations for this event began in 2017, when the Brest and Hefei (Anhui Province) became brothers after our delegation visited China. In May last year, a trilateral agreement was signed on the establishing of the Confucius Institute at Brest State A.S. Pushkin University.

The Co-Director of the Confucius Institute on the Belarusian part, Angela Saidi, invited everyone to get acquainted with the classroom facilities and technical capabilities of the Institute, which includes five classrooms, a teaching and a conference hall. In the conference hall the Rector Anna Sender, the Vice-Chairman of Brest City Executive Committee Vitaly Shcherba, the Head of the Main Directorate of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education of Belarus Sergey Kasperovich welcomed the participants. Din Shiven, the Co-Director of the Confucius Institute on the Chinese part, read out the congratulatory message of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus. By video call we received congratulations on the opening of the Institute from the Rector of Anhui University Quang Guangli. An insightful lyrical note was added to the celebrations by Belarusian students who performed Chinese dance.
