The 5th contest of professional skills “Lawyer of the XXI century”

On May 5, 2016 at the Faculty of Law of Brest State A.S. Pushkin University took place the final of the fifth contest of professional skills "the Lawyer of the XXI century" with information support of Analytical legal system "Business-info". The contest was organized by Brest State A.S. Pushkin University laboratory "Legal clinic", production association "BRSM" of the Faculty of Law and student trade Union.

This year the contest included three elimination rounds and the final. In the first round of “Intellectual marathon” 11 teams of the 3rd and 4th course students took part. The participants had to pass a computer test consisting of 50 questions in all areas of law.

Later in the round "Tips of the young Ciceros", the participants had to write advice for the citizen who is in a place of deprivation of freedom. The task involved the preparation of a reasoned and reasonable document, observance of the wording, expressions and terms, coherence, consistency of presentation.

The third round – "Hour of legal knowledge" – passed on the basis of Gymnasium № 1 and secondary school No. 20. The students conducted interactive sessions on various legal topics. The participants were evaluated by a jury composed of University professors and students. The students conducted interactive sessions on various legal topics. By the results of three stages five teams were in the final. At the first stage "I will be a lawyer and I am proud of it" the guys were preparing the presentations of their teams. The second test was the speech contest, where participants were required to refute a popular expression. The last contest of the finals was a homework "In every fairy tale there is a hint – a lesson for good fellows". In the third stage the participants gave a description of the actions of fairy tale characters from a legal point of view on the example of fairy tales, chosen independently.

The winners were Dmitry Lazarevich and Alexander Vashkevich. Second place went to Anastasia Bristen and Daria Lonshakova, third – Andrey Vasilevsky and Kristina Danilevich. Separately in the category "Master of legal education" were awarded Valery Neskoromny and Natalia Valeeva, and in the nomination "Master of legal letters" – Christina Zinchyuk and Alexander Klyukach.
