Week of Knowledge: Celebratory Assembly for the 1st Year Students

Each year our University family acquires new members: young intellectuals, promising sportsmen, gifted creative personalities and young people with high civic engagement. It is them who we place our hopes on and whose successful future we believe in. And there is no wonder that the motto of the celebratory assembly for the 1st year students, which was held on 3 September 2012, was “With love and faith to the treasury of knowledge”.

Traditionally, the Rector of the University Mechyslau E. Chasnouski addressed the 1st year students with parting words, congratulating them on the beginning of the academic year and wishing them the highest academic achievements. The vice-rectors and deans of the faculties also welcomed new students.

The hosts of the event were the students of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy Jana Butskevich (laureate of numerous Republican contests and festivals; award winner of the International contest of vocalists “Super microphone of the radio Yard” (Poland)) and Sergey Polyachuk (member of the accordion trio “Vostorg”; winner of the regional round of the Republican contest “Student of the year”).

The honorable right to hoist the flag was granted to Alina Piletskaya (1st year student of the Faculty of Philology; winner of the 3rd round of the Republican academic contest in the Russian language and literature; prize-winner of the First Republican academic contest in the Russian literature) and Alexander Kolesnikov (4th year student of the Faculty of History; holder of the scholarship of the University Council).

The appearance of the Knowledge Keeper came as an unusual continuation of the celebratory assembly. In accordance with her will, the deans of all the faculties also became the keepers of symbolic keys to the treasury of knowledge.

Svetlana Osiyuk (1st year student of the Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogy) and Ekaterina Punko (2nd year student of the Faculty of Foreign languages) congratulated the 1st year students with songs.

Dear students, we congratulate you on the beginning of your student life!

We hope that your adventure to the treasury of knowledge will be exciting and informative!
