We Always Have an Idea!

Both the whole Republic of Belarus and Brest State A.S. Pushkin University in particular showed once again a right spirit on the international pedagogical arena. Our unique ethnopedagogical and national-oriented project “Batski.by” became the winner in the nomination “Social sphere” at the Festival of CIS countries.

The 2nd Scientific and Creative Festival of CIS students “Have an idea!” was held upon the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Azerbaijan Republic. The Festival consisted of 8 nominations in each of which the expert jury declared 3 winners in accordance with the number of points they had got.

8 CIS member countries participated in the event. Kazakhstan became the most active participant having presented 86 projects out of 277 projects in total. However, Belarus was closely following the leader in terms of the number of participants: the most popular nominations were “Other” and “Education” in which we presented 56 and 54 projects respectively.

All the winners took part in the awarding ceremony held in Baku on April 1, 2013. During the ceremony the ambassadors of the CIS countries in the Azerbaijan Republic awarded the prizes, and the most interesting projects, having participated in the contest, were presented. Being very important though, the official part was only a part of the “eastern fairytale” the winners appeared in, provided Azerbaijan welcomed its guests with all its hospitality.

It is worth mentioning that Belarus was represented by the delegation consisting of 3 prize-winners: Olga Krus (the project “Batski.by” which took the 1st place in the nomination “Social sphere”), Yuliya Burlo (the project “Маkosh – pleasure to create. A business idea for an orphanage” that took the 2nd place in the nomination “Social sphere”) and Oksana Kozel (the project “Adolescence without aggression and violence (Dialogue-café)” which took the 3rd place in the nomination “Other”). But due to different reasons many Belarusian winners were not able to come over to Baku.

The project “Batski.by” was highly praised by the international jury which got interested in implementation of similar projects in their own countries. Moreover, a forum dedicated to the issues of people's pedagogy was suggested to be held in Brest. Hopefully this idea comes true!
