“Students’ Spring 2013”: University Instrumental Mastery Contest “Soul Notes”

On March 29, 2013, University instrumental mastery contest “Soul notes” was held within the framework of the Students’ Festival “Students’ Spring 2013”.

All the participants demonstrated high level of performance mastery and stage culture.

During the first round the contestants entertained the audience by playing the well-liked musical instrument – guitar (Andrey Semenyuk (Faculty of Foreign Languages), Hleb Papshev (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics), Anastasiya Kivachuk (Faculty of History)). Charming flute performance by Aleksey Pankratov (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics), as well as fascinating violin performance by Irina Maydanova (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics) and rousing accordion performance by Viktor Dashkevich and Aleksander Pernach (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics) also caressed everybody’s ears.

Pianists performed during the second round, they were: Alesya Elenskaya (Faculty of Social Studies and Pedagogics), Yunus Bekchanov and Kseniya Kuleshova (Faculty of Law), Mariya Strunets (Faculty of Psychology and Pedagogics), Alesya Simanovskaya (Faculty of Philology).

Aleksandra Khitrykh (Faculty of Physics and Mathematics) performed a piece of music of her own composition and was announced winner of the contest “Soul notes” 2013. Viktor Dashkevich was second, while the third place was shared by Aleksey Pankratov and Mariya Strunets. Moreover, the jury awarded two contestants - Aleksander Pernach and Alesya Elenskaya – with choice prizes.
