Republican Meeting of Students’ Teams

The last event of the summer 2012 was the Republican meeting of students’ teams, which was held on 30-31 August 2012 in Grodno. The Youth Center, the first Center of the kind in Belarus, opened its doors for the guests and participants.

550 best representatives of students’ teams arrived in Grodno; they were the students who spent most of their holidays at construction sites, modernizing cities and villages, educating children in recreation camps, clearing up forests, parks, public gardens, assisting agrarians in harvesting.

BrSU students were among the members of Brest Region Delegation, they represented the pedagogic team in the nomination “Come to our team”. According to the results of the contest, our presentation took 3^rd place. Moreover, the dislocation stand of the students’ team, presented by Brest Regional headquarters of students’ teams, took 2^nd place.

The Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Maskevich, the chairman of Grodno Regional Executive Committee Semen Shapiro, 2^nd secretary of the Central Committee of Belarusian Republican Youth Union Albina Sychevskaya, as well as the heads of the companies students had been working for participated in the meeting.

The round table was organized as a part of the youth forum at which some questions of practical activities of students’ teams were discussed. During the informal conversation, the secretaries of local and regional committees of Belarusian Republican Youth Union articulated the most urgent for them issues and made offers. In particular, participation of Belarusian students in the construction teams at Sochi Olympic building sites and construction projects in Kazakhstan was considered.

In the summer 2012 4 construction, 7 pedagogic and 10 volunteers’ teams, in which 380 students found their temporary occupation, were formed. The teams will continue working till 1 October.
