Another TEMPUS Project Launched at BrSU

TEMPUS Call for Proposals is published annually both in the Official magazine of the European Union and on the web-page of The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency – EACEA.  

TEMPUS (Trans-European mobility programme for university studies) is a programme financed by the EU and aimed at supporting higher education modernization processes in partner-countries from Eastern Europe, Central Asia, West Balkans and Mediterranean region mainly via projects of inter-university cooperation. The main aim of the programme is to broaden cooperation in the sphere of higher education between the European Union and partner-countries in the context of implementation of Lisbon Strategy and Bologna Process.

This year the Faculty of Mathematics became a participant of the TEMPUS project "INURE: Integrated University Management System: EU Experience on NIS Countries’ Ground" intended for informatization of university management. Universities of Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova are participating in the project. Besides universities, the Ministries of Education of each partner-country are involved into the project, what is to contribute to the dissemination of project ideas and their implementation not only in definite higher education institutions, but in the whole country.

Project objectives include development of current electronic information modules and adoption of new ones as well as their integration in the unified system, the work with which will be implemented with the help of the Web interface. On November 27 – December 1, 2012 the initial meeting on the Project in the course of which the Project tasks were allocated between partner universities took place in the University of Koblenz-Landau (Koblenz, Germany). At the meeting BrSU was represented by first Pro-rector, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Anna N. Sender and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Computer Systems, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Natalya V. Savelyeva. During their speeches they acquainted the project partners with the level and condition of informatization at BrSU. They also mentioned the most significant facts from the History of the University, achievements of University students and lecturers in the spheres of science, education and sport. The participation of the BrSU representatives in the meeting turned out to be successful provided contacts with the project coordinator in charge, as well as with the coordinators of the project in partner-universities were established; areas of BrSU activities and working group members were agreed upon; specific objectives for the next 3 months were determined; general recommendations on the project implementations were received.

The working project group is already formed. In order to take part in other projects of TEMPUS programme it’s necessary to examine carefully the information about Call for Proposals, rules and instructions of application submission. TEMPUS Offices in partner countries assist in application submission process and search of potential project partners (web-page of the TEMPUS OFFICE in the Republic of Belarus).
