The Festival "Vernacular Word
On December 8, 2016 the Festival "Vernacular word" was held at the Faculty of Philology. The festival was arranged by the Department of Belarusian Linguistics and Dialectology and the students of the 3rd year of the specialisation "Belarusian Philology".
The native vernacular words which we heard from our mothers in early childhood were sounding at the festival. The guests and the participants heard the vernacular words of Nadezhda I. Vakulskaya, a 90-year-old resident of the village Subaty, Malorita District, as well as they listened to the Belarusian songs, stories and poems with great pleasure. The students presented a short theatrical performance on the theme of the festival. The participants had the pleasant opportunity to taste the dishes of national cuisine cooked according to the grandmother's recipes.
Moreover, the exhibition of the thematic newsletters was organized before the festival.
