Regional scientific and methodological seminar “Problems of linguodidactics in the context of a new educational paradigm”

On March 18, the new regional scientific-methodical seminar “Problems of linguodidactics in the context of a new educational paradigm”, organized annually by the Chair of General and Russian Linguistics, was held. The seminar was attended by more than 20 teachers and philologists from Brest and the region and 3rd year students of the section "Russian philology" of the Department of Philology.

This year's seminar was dedicated to the problem of working with bright students in the process of Russian language teaching in secondary schools. Opening the seminar, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Head of the Chair of General and Russian Linguistics, Associate Professor O. B. Perekhod noted that the modern educational environment sets the task of identifying bright students and development of their talent, and therefore the teacher should be able to work with students in this direction.

The main report was made by D. E. Sinyuk, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Chair of Psychology, who spoke about explicit and implicit indicators of school-age children's talent.  Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Chair of General and Russian Linguistics S. A. Korolevich spoke on “The technology of school scientific research as a process and result”, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor O. A. Felkina presented her thoughts about working with bright students in preparation for Olympiads of different levels.

Teacher of “Brest Lyceum № 1 named after A. S. Pushkin”  I. M. Parkhutich shared with his colleagues his rich experience of individual methodological support of linguistically motivated students in the process of teaching the Russian language. The interest of the audience was caused by the speech of the teacher-philologist of the State Educational Institution “Brest Gymnasium № 3" T. N. Tarasevich, who told about the preparation of students to write a review of the Olympiads at different levels. A teacher of Russian language and literature of the state educational establishment “Omelenetsk school of Kamenets district” V. N. Philosoph shared with colleagues the experience of working with students in the process of teaching Russian language in the conditions of village school.

In summarizing the results of the seminar participants noted that in the process of working with students attention should be paid not only to the talented students, but also to children who are not identified as talented; wider use of research and search methods, as the main use of problem-dialogical method; in organizing research work with students take into account generally accepted methodological principles, conditions, norms and rules of scientific linguistic search and presentation of its results in the form of the text.

At the end of the seminar, a professional guidance agit-brigade of students of the second year was organized for guest speakers.
