1. Invitation for Studies

Preparation of the documents for the invitation for education

Foreign citizens who wish to study at Brest State A.S. Pushkin University need to obtain an invitation for education which will help to get a visa in a consular office of Belarus.

To obtain the Invitation for Education foreign citizens are to apply the following documents to international relations office:

Notarized copy of the document on education where studied subjects and received marks (points) are indicated;
Notarized (if necessary) translation into the Russian or Belarusian languages of the documents on education where studied subjects and received marks (points) are indicated;
A copy of passport or other identifying document;
A notarized (if necessary) translation into the Russian or Belarusian languages of passport or other identifying document.

The copies of the documents are to be authenticated with a notarial seal.

Language of the documents

All documents made in foreign languages are to be supplied with a notarized translation into the Russian language.

Documents should be sent to the university via e-mail (int-pri@brsu.by) or ordinary post with the mark: “Admission documents”.

2. Deadlines for application

Deadlines for application of the documents to the Admission Board (upon arrival in Belarus):

Until October 15 – main faculties;

There is no deadline for application of the documents to Master’s or Postgraduate studies departments and to the Preparatory course for foreign students.

3. Arrival

Address the Belarusian Consulate in your home country for a student visa. Visa requirements vary for different countries. Detailed information for your region is available from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

The most convenient way to come to Belarus is by plane (recommended companies: BelAvia, Aeroflot, Lufthansa) or by train. Train timetables are available on the website of the Belarusian Railroads.

Please mind that the National Airport Minsk-2 is located 50 kilometers away from city Minsk. You can get to the center of the city by a taxi (30 US Dollars) or by a bus (3 US Dollars)

From the National Airport Minsk- 2 you need to get to Brest. The most convenient way to do it is by train but also you can take coach.

A foreign citizen (or his/her representative) is obliged to inform the employees of Department of International Affairs about the supposed date of arrival in the Republic of Belarus via phone +375 (162) 21-06-68 or e-mail int-pri@brsu.by.

4. Admission

Congratulations, You have received a Student Visa and arrived in Belarus. Now you are to pass the enrollment procedure which consist of admission itself, accommodation at the one of the university dormitories, taking medical examination and receiving a temporary registration in Belarus for the period of study.

STEP 1 To submit the following documents to the Admission Board:

Application for admission with specialty specified (to be filled on submission of the documents to the admission board);
Documents on education where done subjects and received marks (points) are specified;
Health certificate confirming the applicant is medically fit to study in the climatic conditions of Belarus, authenticated by the official medical organization of the candidate’s homeland country ;
Medical certificate on absence of AIDS issued by the official medical organization of the candidate’s country of arrival;
Authenticated copy of the birth certificate;
6 photos sized 3x4 cm;
Certificate on finishing a preparatory department or courses (if any);
Document establishing your identity (national passport).

The above mentioned documents are to be supplied with the notarized translation into the Belarusian or Russian language.

STEP 2 To pass an interview in the profile subjects and the Russian language.

STEP 3 Sign the Education Contract and make payment for education. Payment can be made in the branch office of “Belarusbank” which is located on the first floor of the University’s main building.

On the basis of the signed Contract and the bank receipt confirming that the payment for education has been made the University’s authorities make a Warrant of Admission and you are a student of Brest State A.S. Pushkin University, so you can begin your study and get the student ticket.

5. Registration

REMEMBER! Within 10 days after your arrival in Belarus you are to apply for registration. To do that, please contact Department of International Affairs: 21, Kosmonavtov Boulevard, Office 117 (the main building of the University).

6. Tuition fee

Cost of study for international students in the academic year 2023–2024

Please note, that the tuition fees of Brest State A.S. Pushkin University are annually approved by the order of the Rector. Foreign citizens pay tuition fees in US Dollars.

7. Useful to know

Here are a few important aspects to be known by any foreign citizen coming to Belarus.

The Belarusians are a peace-loving and well-wishing nation. One of the typical features of the Belarusian mentality is tolerance towards the people of different nations, races or confessions. During all its history our country has been a cross cultural area, where Western individualism, East European self-discipline, Northern tranquility, and Southern temperament met.

Today, Belarus is the home for people of more than 100 different nationalities. Many foreign students who have lived for some time in the other European countries make special mention of Belarusian hospitality, cordiality and the well wishing treatment of the Belarusians to people from abroad.

Still one must keep in mind that like any other city, Brest is not homogenous regarding safety. We recommend you to be attentive in the streets, watch over your personal belongings, and avoid late visits to the distant parts of the city.

The stay of foreign citizens is regulated by the special rules. In case if a foreign citizen violates these rules he or she is subject to an administrative penalty or deportation. That is why we recommend you to have identifying documents with you. Obligatory for you is to make a photocopy of your passport and have it with you all the time.
