Our sportsmen at the International tournament in acrobatics
During the period from November 6 and 9 of the year 2017 the 21st International tournament in sports acrobatics in memory of honored coach of the Soviet Union V.P. Korkin was being held in Brest. Our university was one of the co-organizers of this tournament and took part in its preparation and arranging.
Brief information
Korkin Vladimir Pavlovich was a Professor at the Department of theory and methods of physical education of Brest State A.S. Pushkin University and was in charge of scientific and pedagogical school in sports acrobatics. He was an honoured coach of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, a referee of the International class and a member of scientific and pedagogical board of the international federation of sports acrobatics. During his scientific and pedagogical activity in the institutions of higher education V.P. Korkin wrote 20 books and manuals, 19 classification and teaching programmes as well as 50 articles for magazines. During his coaching activity he prepared a large group of high qualification sportsmen including 164 Master of Sports, 4 honoured Master of Sports, 11 Master of Sports of the international class.
The first tournament in the memory of Vladimir Pavlovich was held in the year of his death in 1997.
Nowadays the tournament is included in the National schedules of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Moldova. The majority of the participants are juniors and she-juniors. Eminent sportsmen participate at the event as well.
More than 100 sportsmen from 5 countries (Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Germany) took part at the competition this year.
In the genuine and beautiful competition the sportsmen showed skills and grace. One of the prize-winners became Marina Samkevich, a student of the Department of Physical Training, who with her partners took second place in nomination “Woman group”.
